The Rustic Stomp Festival – Gothic Western Hoedown
The Rustic Stomp, Dorset’s finest Roots Festival is bringing together a plethora of local, national and international artists to give you the finest bluegrass, gothic western hoedown, blues, swamp stomp, country-based festival, with tractors, that money can buy. Three days of music and merriment are all wrapped within the Rustic aesthetic. This year’s Rustic Stomp will also include historic vehicles and a Well Bean hub within the festival arena.This year’s festival brings together three of the Crawdaddy festival brands under one roof, as it were. The Wonky Donk stage will feature the best of hoedown, country and hillbilly music. The Dark Holler stage takes a slightly, well, darker comedic look at life and the Organford stage is a more accessible, easy listening venue.
The event opens up on a ticketed event headlined by local foot-stompers The Jimmy Hillbillies throwing down their Dorset Hoedown for the masses. Friday night features the mighty Frank from Blue Velvet from Hastings and taking the Roots scene by storm, local skiffle kings Quinn’s Quinney, as well as Burg and the Vagabond Choir and festival favourites The Curst Sons. Saturday has a real heavy weight feel to it with international superstars the Heathen Apostles featuring ex-Cramps member Chopper Franklin, headlining the event. Texas Swing outfit the Bootheel Playboys, Dead Horse Bay, a plethora of local artists on the Dungaville Stage and London’s finest banjo player and builder Flatfoot Johnny. Sunday takes a stronger turn towards the genre of Country with the amazing Sarah Vista headlining.
The history of the Rustic Stomp goes back over 10 years, when Hawkeye Houlihan and some friends put on a little festival at the Donkey Sanctuary at Home Farm, Lytchet. The aim then was to help rescue donkeys by putting on some great rustic music that people would love. Well, the donkeys are rescued now and the festival is growing, its aim to put the Dorset ‘roots’ scene on the map. The festival is also looking to grow and has moved to a new, more accessible site at Pike’s Farm, Organford. “Each year we are aiming to increase the accessibility of this type of music to a wider audience and promote the local artists that provide the backbone to the scene, as well as bring in some top-ranking national and international stars” says Hawkeye.
The Rustic Stomp is on from the evening of Thursday 13th July until Sunday 16th July and takes place at Pikes Farm, Organford, Dorset. Weekend tickets are £86.40, day tickets from £27.50.
Heathen Apostles UK Tour in July 2023
The Heathen Apostles UK tour will begin in July of 2023, it will be their first one of the United Kingdom. The 18 date swing will be built around their appearance at the Rustic Stomp Festival in Dorset, Poole on 15 July and will also feature a video shoot for their next single from their current release Bloodgrass Vol. 3 & 4. It’s almost Halloween and it’s time to announce the Heathen Apostles’ annual Gothic Western Halloween “Play a Goth Themed Show One Night, a Honky Tonk Themed Show the Next”. We’ll be at Bar Sinister in Hollywood on Saturday Oct. 29th (with God Module), and then the Echoplex in Echo Park on Devil’s Night Sunday Oct. 30th (w/ Blue Drivers and Sie Sie Bernhoff, doors at 6pm). We’ll have guest musicians Aubrey Richmond on violin and Patrick Muzingo on drums. 2020 was a year of loss, reflection, and reevaluation. Trying as the times were to have a trio of tour cancellations both stateside and abroad as the live music industry seemingly evaporated overnight, the Heathen Apostles did not let the unexpected gift of time go to waste. To the contrary, the band channeled the turbulent year’s events and its complex emotions into their music, and the result- BLOODGRASS VOL. 3&4- is a dark country album of a collection of songs at once timely as they are timeless.

The Heathen Apostles will be returning to Bar Sinister for a Halloween show on Saturday October 29th. Bar Sinister is the premiere goth club is Los Angeles, located at 652 N. Cherokee Ave, Hollywood, just south of Hollywood Blvd.

Final Dates for Heathen Apostles’ Bloodgrass Music Tour
The final tour dates have been announced for the Heathen Apostles September 2021 European Tour, they will be visiting Germany, France, Sweden Italy, Belgium and The Netherlands. Their Bloodgrass music tour was booked to make up for the postponed tour of September 2020, and they are playing many of the same venues on board one year later. They will be supporting their upcoming EP Bloodgrass Vol. 3, out August 27th on Ratchet Blade Records, and the precursor to the 2022 release of the Bloodgrass Vol. 3 & 4 album.

Once again we are having to announce the cancellation of another tour, this one our May/June 2021 European tour. Due to the ongoing COVID 19 crisis, and the delay in getting vaccinations on both continents, our next appearance in Europe will be our September 2021 tour, and we are rescheduling the canceled tour to May/June 2022 (contact Kurt De Bont at Rootstown bookings for info). Heathen Apostles’ 2020 European Tour Postponed
The Heathen Apostles’ 2020 European tour in September has been postponed due to the COVID 19 crisis, the band announced recently. Whenever possible the dates will be rescheduled to September 2021, several have already been confirmed, check back for announcements. Heathen Apostles Bring Dark Americana to Europe in 2021
Booking has begun for the Heathen Apostles Europe 2021 tour, and the band is looking forward to bringing their Dark Americana music back there once again. Their September 2020 European tour is still on as of now, but will depend on future travel restrictions. Be sure and check the band out this year, see below for those tour dates.

Heathen Apostles’ Gothic Acoustic Tour Postponed
The Heathen Apostles and Speedbuggy USA Gothic Acoustic West Coast Tour has been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis. It was to take both bands up the US West Coast and back during the last two weeks of April. The bands are hoping to reschedule for June 2020, but of course everything is up in the air right now. Check back for more info on this tour, and all upcoming dates (the Heathen Apostles’ European Tour in September is still looking like a good possibility), and the band wants to convey to their fans to stay safe during this crisis.
Heathen Apostles To Appear With Pirate Goth Band The Dread Crew of Oddwood
The Heathen Apostles will be appearing with pirate goth act The Dread Crew of Oddwood on Friday April 10th at The Satellite in Los Angeles, Ca. It will be the Heathens last show before their West Coast tour with Speedbuggy USA (running from Friday April 17th through Sunday April 16th), so come on down and get in on the wild times. The Dread Crew of Oddwood is a folk metal band known for its pirate-themed music played exclusively on acoustic instruments. They have dubbed this unique style as Heavy Mahogany. Heathen Apostles in a Night of Gothic Outlaw Country

Jason Charles Miller is an American singer-songwriter known for his solo albums as well as being the lead vocalist and guitarist of the industrial rock band Godhead. Hannah Aldridge is an Americana/ Folk artist originally from Muscle Shoals, Al. She is the daughter of the #1 hit songwriter and Alabama Music Hall of Fame inductee, Walt Aldridge.
Cowboy Goth Art Show at Black Sheep Art Gallery
The Heathen Apostles will be appearing at the Black Sheep Gallery in Burbank, Ca. on Sunday January 19th. It is a special event and cowboy goth art installation called ‘Frontier Justice’, and is described by the gallery as: “Frontier Justice – when the law was newly forming and the people in the west took matters into their own hands. This show will touch on The history of the spread of democracy, criminal behavior, the pilgrimage of settlers voyaging into the desert, and the effects this time had on native people and the country itself. We hope to enlighten you with the harsh winds of the west and the cold nights of the desert.”

The music of Wovenhand and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist David Eugene Edwards has always had an unparalleled intensity. But now in its current incarnation, Wovenhand is a band that fully expands that power with exacting and inventive skill. It’s a sound so distinctive and compellingly crushing that even the heaviest of metal bands can’t match.
Wovenhand’s current lineup includes guitarist Chuck French, bassist Neil Keener (both of Planes Mistaken For Stars) and drummer Ordy Garrison, now joined by piano/synth player Matthew Smith (Crime & The City Solution). Star Treatment was recorded at Steve Albini’s legendary Electrical Audio in Chicago with engineer Sanford Parker, who also helmed Wovenhand’s 2014 album Refractory Obdurate.

Heathen Apostles Play Amigo the Devil After-Party Nov. 1st
The Heathen Apostles will be playing a Dia de los Muertos show at The Love Song Bar in DTLA on Fri. Nov. 1st for the Amigo the Devil after-party for his show with King Dude & Twin Temple that is happening at The Regent Theater in downtown Los Angeles (which is next door to The Love Song Bar).
This show will also be the release party for the Heathen Apostles’ new Born By Lightning EP, which will be released on Halloween on Ratchet Blade Records. For more info click HERE.

The tickets have gone online for the Heathen Apostles Paris show at Black Star on Tuesday June 18th. The show is one of a week’s worth of appearances in France for the Heathens, starting at La Bazka in Tranqueville-Graux, France on June 17th and ending in Nevers at the Fete de la musique on June 21st. Heathen Apostles Confirmed For Sjockfest 2019
The Heathen Apostles have been confirmed for Sjockfest 2019 in Gierle, Belgium. Sjockfest is Belgium’s ‘Lollapalooza’ and the Heathens are excited to appear on Friday July 12th at 22:05 (10 pm) as main support to the Goddamn Gallows on the Titty Twister stage.
